Watch parts explained
Every part shapes the look and function of your watch. Here is the anatomy of a Seiko mod, part by part.
Dial
The dial is the face of the watch — the first thing you see and the part that sets its character. Colour, indices, texture and lume decide whether a watch reads sporty, elegant or vintage. On a Seiko mod, the dial is the single component with the biggest visual impact.
Learn more →Hands
Hands are small but formative: their shape decides legibility and style, their lume decides usability in the dark. Whether sword, snowflake, Mercedes or dauphine, the right set of hands ties the dial and case together and turns separate parts into a coherent design.
Learn more →Crown
The crown is the interface between you and the movement: it sets the time and date and winds the watch. A screw-down crown seals the case and is the basis for real water resistance. Position (3 or 4 o'clock), size and signature further shape both handling and looks.
Learn more →Bezel
The bezel frames the dial and, on many divers, is the defining design element. A ceramic or aluminium insert carries the dive or GMT scale and sets the colour accent — from classic black through Pepsi (blue-red) to Batman (blue-black). Rotating or fixed decides whether the bezel is function or pure looks.
Learn more →Leather Strap
A leather strap changes a watch's character instantly: a sporty diver becomes an elegant everyday or dress watch. Genuine leather ages beautifully, moulds to the wrist and swaps in seconds with quick-release spring bars. Width and colour are matched to the case and dial.
