Keep the crown closed, wipe the case dry with a soft cloth, and follow the fitted movement’s instructions for winding and setting the date.
Water resistance
Your watch’s stated water-resistance rating (5 ATM; 10 ATM on the GMT Gold & Black) allows hand washing, showers and everyday swimming in principle. Close the crown before water contact and wipe the outside dry afterwards; never operate the crown while it is wet. Seek service if moisture appears inside the case or under the crystal.
Automatic winding
Automatic watches wind through wrist movement. On an NH35, carefully unscrew a screw-down crown first. Then turn the crown slowly clockwise in its normal position and close it again afterwards. Follow the instructions for other movements; one fixed number of turns does not suit every watch. VK63 and VD78 quartz movements run on a battery and do not need winding.
Setting the date
For NH34, NH35, NH36 and NH37, do not use quick date setting between 9 pm and 4 am. First move the hands outside that window. NH38 and NH39 have no date; check the relevant instructions for other movements.
Cleaning
Wipe the case, crystal and bracelet only with a dry, soft cloth. Keep leather dry. Do not use solvents, bleach or brushes, and keep the crown closed while cleaning.
Storage
Store the watch dry and away from magnets such as speakers, magnetic clasps or magnetic charging accessories. A watch winder is optional; you do not need one to wind an NH35 manually. If its rate changes noticeably after possible magnetic contact, have it checked by a professional.
Service
