Care
Care Guide
With the right care, your MedoMods runs reliably for years.
Water resistance
Our mods are water resistant to 5 ATM (50 m) — fine for washing hands, rain and short swims. NOT for diving or hot showers/sauna (heat and gaskets don't mix). Always push the crown fully in / screw it down.
Automatic winding
The NH35 movement winds itself through wrist motion. Wear the watch daily and it keeps running. After it stops: wind the crown about 30 turns or gently shake it for 20–30 seconds, then set time and date.
Setting the date
Never change the date between 9 pm and 3 am — the date wheel is engaged in that window and manual changes can damage it. First move the hands to a time outside it, then set the date.
Cleaning
Wipe the case and steel bracelet with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Clean metal bracelets occasionally with mild soap and a soft brush, then dry thoroughly. Keep leather straps away from water.
Storage
Store dry and away from magnets (speakers, laptops, magnetic clasps). A watch winder keeps automatics running when unworn — but it isn't required.
Service
Mechanical movements benefit from a service every 4–6 years (cleaning, oiling). Any watchmaker with Seiko experience can service the NH35. Don't open the case yourself — it risks the water resistance and warranty.
