Hands are small but distinctive: their shape, length and contrast with the dial determine how you read the time. Luminous material helps in the dark where fitted. A balanced set of hands brings the dial and case together visually.
Sword hands have a blade-shaped outline; Mercedes-style hands feature a segmented hour hand. Compare them with the actual dial: can you distinguish hours from minutes and read the tip against the scale? These are design examples from specific MedoMods models.
For a hand replacement, a watchmaker checks the hour, minute and second fittings, hand length and fitting height. Hands need clearance from one another, the dial and the crystal. The NH35 drawing distinguishes hand heights, so a movement family name cannot replace checking the exact version.
Distinct shapes, contrast against the dial and a length suited to the scale help with legibility. Luminous material is another feature on suitably equipped models.
A shared brand or movement family name does not establish that. The fittings and fitting height must be checked for the exact hand set and movement.
Compare shape, contrast and proportions on the complete watch design. Start with a watch base and the combinations offered for it in the MedoMods configurator.
