Frequently asked questions

What is a Seiko mod?
A Seiko mod is a modified watch that uses an authentic Seiko movement, combined with third-party high-quality parts. Most of our watches come in stainless steel with sapphire crystal.
How long will it take to receive my watch?
It usually takes 10–12 days from order to delivery. The reason: we build every watch by hand only after you order it. It then goes through quality control, and only after that do we ship it. With Priority Build (an optional extra for €9.99, chosen on the product page) your watch moves to the front of the bench.
Can I customize the logo or remove it?
Absolutely. Send us an email with your order number and full name after ordering, stating your desired design or that you want to remove the logo. You can also leave a note at checkout, or contact us before ordering.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. Every watch comes with a 2-year warranty from delivery. It covers manufacturing defects and functional problems under normal use. It doesn't cover scratches, damage from opening the watch, or water damage. If your watch is rated 5 ATM, hand-washing and rain are fine. Avoid diving, hot water and showering.
Is MedoMods a legitimate shop?
MedoMods is run by AM GbR, based in Leimen near Heidelberg, Germany. Our address and VAT ID are in the legal notice. You pay through Stripe, for example by card, PayPal or Klarna, and your card details never reach us. For deliveries to the UK, USA and Australia, we offer 14-day returns from delivery. We do not charge an additional restocking fee. We issue refunds within 4 calendar days after receiving the return. Every watch comes with a 2-year warranty. You can find our seller ratings on eBay.
Why are your watches cheaper than those in other shops?
We push prices down as much as we can. We believe many comparable watches are overpriced because shops bundle extras (like extra straps) into the price. We let you choose what you want, so you only pay for what you actually need.
Do you use genuine Seiko movements?
Yes. We source from suppliers who sell authentic Seiko movements. The specific movement is listed on each model’s product page. If you suspect that your watch contains the wrong movement or a non-genuine one, contact us with your order number and a description.
Are the watches hand-built?
Yes — all our watches are built by hand.
Can I design my own Seiko mod?
Yes. In the configurator you choose a base model and put the design together from the options on offer. The movement depends on the base: there are bases with automatic and with quartz movements. You see the price of your complete configuration right in the configurator. We then assemble the watch for you by hand.
Do I get a kit or a finished watch?
A finished watch. We assemble every watch by hand, and it goes through quality control before we ship it. You need neither tools nor experience.
What is Priority Build?
Priority Build is an add-on for €9.99. Your watch moves to the front of the bench queue and therefore leaves earlier. You choose it on the product page or in your cart.
How much is shipping and where do you deliver?
Standard shipping is free, whatever the order value, and we deliver worldwide, for example with DHL or UPS. From order to delivery it takes 10–12 calendar days. With Priority Build (€9.99) your watch moves to the front of the bench.
How can I track my order?
As soon as your watch has shipped, you get an email with the tracking number. Use it to follow your parcel on our Track Order page or directly on the carrier's website.
How can I pay?
You pay through Stripe, for example by card, PayPal or Klarna. Your card details never reach us.
How accurate is a watch with an NH35 automatic movement?
The movement maker TMI specifies -20 to +40 seconds per day for the NH35 under defined test conditions. The NH35 can be hand-wound, and the seconds hand stops while you set the time, so you can set the watch to the exact second.
What happens if my parcel arrives damaged or gets lost?
Write to us at info@medomods.com, ideally within 7 days, with your order number, photos of the box, the packaging and the watch, and a short description. We help you with the carrier claim and arrange a replacement or a suitable solution.
