Use the instructions for the movement
The NH35 technical guide describes manual winding, date correction and time setting through the crown. Other movement references have their own instructions. A screw-down crown is a construction feature of specific models; water resistance is a specification of the complete watch, not the crown alone.
Check the stem, tube and case together
For a crown replacement, a watchmaker checks the correct stem, its length and crown connection, plus the case's crown tube and seals. Diameter and grip affect handling. A shared brand name or a similar crown shape cannot replace these checks.
