The Sky Collection is designed for anyone who travels frequently, needs to keep track of multiple time zones—or simply loves the design of classic pilot and GMT watches. Based on the Seiko NH34 movement (a true GMT module with an independently adjustable 24-hour hand), we build handcrafted mods inspired by the GMT-Master, the Sky-Dweller, or classic IWC Pilot models.

The NH34 movement is one of the most exciting innovations in the Seiko universe in recent years: a “Caller GMT” with the same robustness as the NH35, but with a true second-time-zone function. The fourth hand can be set independently of the hour hand and displays a second time on a 24-hour scale or against a rotating GMT bezel—ideal for travelers, commuters, and shift workers.

Stylistically, the Sky collection branches out in three directions. The Pepsi/Coke homage with a two-tone aluminum or ceramic bezel is the quintessential classic—we offer it on 40-mm cases with Jubilee or Oyster bracelets. The Sky-Dweller-Inspired combines an open 24-hour inner ring layout with a two-tone bezel and fine fluted details. The Pilot model, on the other hand, features pilot-style large-digit dials, a sandwich construction with strong lume, and a 41-mm case with screw-down lugs.

Sapphire crystal, a fully screw-down crown, and 200-meter water resistance are standard across the entire Sky line. The bezel mechanism (either bidirectional on the Pilot versions or unidirectional on the Diver-GMT hybrids) is tested for precision before installation—nothing is more annoying than a wobbly bezel with imprecise click stops.

An NH34-based Seiko GMT mod is perhaps the most honest way today to buy a reliable travel watch without having to spend well into the four-digit range. Comparable Swiss GMT models cost over €3,000, while serious microbrand GMTs range from €800 to €1,500.
