1. Trademark law — the most important point

A mod is legal as long as it carries no third-party trademarks. In practice:

• ✅ Allowed: A Sub-style watch with the MedoMods logo, no logo at all, or a generic design
• ❌ Not allowed: The same watch with a Rolex crown or the "Submariner" name on the dial

Selling a watch bearing someone else's registered trademark is trademark infringement (in Germany, where MedoMods is based, this falls under § 14 of the German Trademark Act, MarkenG — and the underlying principle is the same across the EU and most other jurisdictions). This also applies to private resale. Buyers of a trademark-infringing watch risk having it confiscated in a customs or police check.
