DATE MOD CLASSIC MOD - GREY ROMAN

The Date Mod Classic Grey Roman takes one of the most versatile dial colours in watchmaking and pairs it with Roman numerals for a result that reads as considered rather than conservative. Grey dials sit comfortably between the formality of white and the assertiveness of black — they go with more outfits than either extreme. MedoMods builds this Seiko mod by hand in Germany, available in 36 mm, 39 mm, or 41 mm, so the watch fits the wrist instead of the other way around.

Movement

The Seiko NH35 automatic movement is the foundation: hacking seconds for precise time-setting, hand-winding when you want to get the watch running without wearing it, and approximately 41 hours of power reserve — enough to survive a weekend without wearing. The date complication at three o'clock advances mechanically, no battery required. The optional exhibition caseback gives you a view of the NH35 rotor in motion; the solid caseback option is cleaner if movement visibility is not a priority for you.

Case, Crystal & Bracelet

316L stainless steel case in three diameters: 36 mm, 39 mm, and 41 mm (crown excluded from all measurements). Sapphire crystal protects the dial from scratches and the Super-LumiNova on hands and indices keeps the watch legible in low light. Screw-down crown and 5 ATM water resistance cover everyday exposure without any anxiety. The stainless steel bracelet is adjustable to a wide range of wrist sizes and locks with a safety folding clasp.

Grey and Roman: A Deliberate Choice

Grey dials have a long history on dress and field watches — they read as neutral without being bland. Roman numerals add structure and a classical reference without looking dated. Together they produce a dial that suits formal occasions and daily wear in equal measure, which is exactly what a dress-sport Seiko mod should do. If you already own black-dial and blue-dial watches, a grey dial is the gap in the rotation worth filling.
