The GMT Mod blue-black 2 goes darker than its predecessor. Where the original blue-black plays with contrast, this version commits to a deeper, more serious palette — a blacked-out aesthetic with a blue-and-black bezel that reads purposefully in any light. It is a GMT Seiko Mod built for collectors who have already been through the bright colours and now want something with a bit more edge. Darker, sharper, better

The ceramic bezel is scratch-resistant and colour-stable — the blue stays blue, the black stays black, year after year. The NH34 drives a true 24-hour GMT hand independently of the hour hand, so you set your home timezone once and leave it. Sapphire crystal, screw-down crown at 5 ATM, and Super-LumiNova indices round out a spec sheet with no obvious weak points. The 5-Link bracelet adds a bit of refinement to its tool-watch character. Blue below, black above

The GMT Mod blue-black 2 divides its ceramic bezel into a black upper half and a blue lower half. To match, the GMT hand is blue, and the dial is black with round and oblong luminous indices. On the wrist it sits on a 5-Link bracelet with narrow centre links. In the 40 mm case and the NH34 GMT movement it does not differ from any of its three siblings.

The GMT Mod red-blue has the same bracelet and the same dark dial but replaces the black on the bezel: blue on top, red below, with a red GMT hand. On the GMT Mod red-black the upper half stays black and the lower half turns red. It comes on a 3-Link bracelet with wider, flat links. The GMT Mod Silver Horizon looks quite different, with a silver dial, a single-colour black bezel and an orange GMT hand, while the bracelet stays the same. For a cool interplay of blue and black without any red, the blue-black 2 is the obvious version in this line. If you would rather have a light background under the hands, the Silver Horizon is where you end up.

The GMT Mod blue-black 2 shows a deep black dial with a fine, pale minute track at the edge and round lume dots, plus a triangle and two bars. A three-part ring sits on the hour hand, beside it runs a thin white hand with a dot, and the blue GMT hand ends in a small triangle. On the right a magnifier shows the date. All the hands are filled with lume, so they stand out clearly from the dark ground. The upper half of the bezel is black, the lower blue, with white numerals and a toothed rim; small white dots sit between the numerals. The numerals stay white on both halves, and only the ground behind them changes. The bracelet too follows the pattern of fine links, in five rows. The narrow centre links catch the light in many small facets. Otherwise everything stays steel-coloured, so only the blue band on ring and hand brings colour, and the dial lies behind like a dark stage.

GMT Mod brown-gold keeps dial and upper bezel half dark but relies on rose-gold metal with a brown ring and a bracelet of three rows. With a green hand and a green lower bezel half, GMT Mod green-black differs only in colour; dial and bracelet look the same. 3-6-9 field dial Mod Black manages entirely without a coloured insert: a brushed steel ring with black numerals, an orange hand and a bracelet of only three rows. Anyone wanting cool blue with black and a bracelet of fine links finds a place here. Behind the differences stand identical data: 40 mm diameter, the NH34 movement with GMT hand, and sapphire crystal.
