The Customer Mod Two-Tone Gold slate-green is a dress-sport Seiko mod that draws from the long tradition of multicoloured dials in fine watchmaking. The slate-green dial — characteristically segmented in green and white, here executed in a gold-toned two-tone treatment — brings a sense of occasion to a 36, 39 or 41 mm stainless steel case that wears quietly on the wrist. If you want an automatic watch that stands out at the dinner table without shouting in the office, this is the one.
The slate-green dial pattern has fans because the colour segmentation is genuinely difficult to execute well at this price level. MedoMods does the assembly by hand, combining sourced components with careful individual checks before the watch leaves. The result is a two-tone gold Seiko mod that earns its price through what's inside and on the dial, not through inflated branding. EU-based, no customs fees for EU buyers.
This two-tone Customer Mod wears a slate-grey sunburst dial on which the hours appear as dark green Roman numerals; a silver triangle sits at the top and a silver bar on the left side. Bezel and crown are gold-coloured, the bezel fluted. The case and the outer links of the five-row bracelet are steel-coloured, the centre links gold-coloured. Built the same way but with a different face is the Customer Mod Two-Tone Gold & Black: the same mix of steel colour, fluted bezel and five-row bracelet, yet light baton indices on a dark dial instead of coloured numerals. The Customer Mod Two-Tone Gold Arabic replaces the Roman numerals with gold-coloured Eastern Arabic ones on a light background and hangs on a three-row bracelet. The Customer Mod Gold & Pink Arabic is gold-coloured throughout, with a smooth bezel and pink dial. All four share the NH35 automatic movement and the sizes 36, 39 and 41 mm. Green on grey makes for a muted colour play, for anyone who likes Roman numerals but wants neither a hard light-dark contrast nor a fully gold-coloured case.
The dial is slate grey with a sunburst finish; the Roman numerals in dark green stand at nine of the hours, a silver triangle at 12, a silver bar at 9, and minute numbers run along the outside in steps of five. The hands have light fill, silver-coloured in the first picture and gold-coloured in the second. Gold sits on the crown, the ribbed bezel and the centre links of the bracelet, everything else is steel-coloured, and the bracelet shows five rows in the first picture, while in the second there are three rows with grooved centre links; the date lies beneath a magnifier. On Customer Mod Gold & Black, by contrast, everything is gold-coloured: a bezel with a smooth, domed, polished finish, a black dial, gold-coloured baton indices with a double stroke at 12 and a three-row bracelet.
Customer Mod Dark Blue stays entirely in steel, with a blue dial, light baton indices, silver-coloured hands and a ribbed bezel, without a single numeral. Customer Mod Palm Leaf shares the five-row steel bracelet, yet a palm-frond pattern shows on the blue dial, a triangle sits at 12, light strokes mark the remaining hours, and the bezel is polished, smooth and domed. This watch shows numerals and a gold rim together; whoever prefers to do without gold looks to the blue or the palm-frond watch; whoever wants the whole case in gold, to the black one. The date sits at 3 o'clock on all four, the crown stays steel-coloured on the blue and palm-frond watches, here it is gold. An NH35 works inside all four, and the case sizes are the same on all of them as well, lying between 36 and 41 mm.
