The Seiktos 9-5 Classic Dial is MedoMods' answer to a real gap in the market: a 38 mm square-case automatic with an integrated stainless steel bracelet, built for the person who dresses up for work and expects their watch to do the same. The name says it all — this is the watch for the 9-to-5, for the commute and the meeting room and the after-work drink, for anyone who wants a confident, distinctive profile without the bulk of a round sport watch on their wrist.

Movement

At the heart of the Seiktos 9-5 Classic Dial is the Seiko NH35 automatic, with hacking seconds and hand-winding built in. The NH35 is one of the most reliable movements available at this level — it is serviceble, widely understood by watchmakers, and runs at 21,600 bph with approximately 41 hours of power reserve. The exhibition caseback shows the movement through sapphire glass, offering a view of the NH35's characteristic rotor in the square-case context — an unusual and appealing sight.

Case & Crystal

The 38 mm square case in stainless steel integrates directly into the bracelet — no visible lug gap, no floating attachment point — creating the unified silhouette that defines this design family. The screw-down crown seals the case to 5 ATM (comfortable for hand-washing and light swimming, not for diving). The sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating stays legible in direct sunlight without compromise. Wrist coverage runs from approximately 14.5 cm to 22 cm on the integrated stainless bracelet.

Dial & Design

The Classic Dial variant presents a clean face with Roman-influenced index treatment — more formal than stark batons, less fussy than full Roman numerals. The square case architecture creates a natural visual frame around the dial that round watches simply cannot replicate, giving this piece a distinctly architectural quality. Lume application varies by model but the emphasis throughout this collection is on legibility and refined design over overt sportiness.

On the Wrist

Thirty-eight millimetres sits at the sweet spot for a square-case watch: large enough to be noticed but proportionate enough to wear under a shirt cuff. The integrated bracelet's natural taper from the case to the clasp is the design element that makes the whole piece hang together — it is what you reach for when you want a watch that communicates a certain understated confidence.
