Oak Mod | Light Grey – Integrated Bracelet

Grey on grey, and distinctive for exactly that reason: the OAK MOD | Light Grey – Integrated Bracelet sets a light-grey waffle dial, built up from rows of small squares, into a steel-coloured case of 41.5 mm, so that dial, case and bracelet land on almost one tone. Eight screws mark the brushed, octagonal bezel. On the grey sit silver-coloured baton markers with a white fill and hands to match; the seconds hand is thin and pale, and the date has its place at 3 o'clock.

It is the small fields of the waffle pattern that give the grey its depth. Twelve is picked out by a double baton, while every other hour makes do with one marker. Because the seconds hand is so pale and narrow, the broader baton hands step forward. Whether a logo stands on the light-grey dial or none at all is yours to settle when ordering.

Octagon, screws, steel

For the case and bracelet of the Light Grey, 316L stainless steel is used, and its bezel with the eight screws is brushed as well. There is no break between case and integrated link bracelet; one runs into the other. On the wrist the bracelet covers circumferences from approx. 14.5 cm upwards and ends at 22 cm; the tool for adjusting it comes with the watch at no extra charge. Measured without the crown, the watch reaches 41.5 mm in diameter, and its thickness is approx. 12 mm. The grey dial lies under scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and anyone who turns the watch over looks through the transparent case back at the movement.

Seiko NH35 with hacking seconds

Behind that case back of the Light Grey runs a Seiko NH35, in other words an automatic movement. Hand-winding is part of it too, and for as long as you are setting the time, the pale seconds hand stands still.

The grey one among three colours

Dark blue and light blue are the dial colours of the two siblings that hang on the same integrated bracelet. Blue is missing only from the light-grey version, and so it comes across as nearly monochrome. We picture it with a grey suit just as much as with jeans and a white T-shirt; its 41.5 mm look right, in our estimation, on medium to larger wrists.
