TONA MOD | RoseGold Black - 40mm

Black dial, black rubber, rose gold throughout: this is one of the most classical readings of the Tona Mod in the line. Three rose-gold subdials sit on a deep black dial, applied rose-gold baton indices catch the light around the dial, and a black tachymeter bezel scaled in rose gold frames the whole composition. It is built in the spirit of the racing chronograph, but at 40 mm it wears with the ease of an everyday watch — high contrast, warm metal, nothing on the dial that does not earn its place.

Movement

The primary movement option is the Seiko VK63 mecha-quartz — a genuine quartz motor that drives fully functional chronograph pushers with the crisp, snappy feel of a traditional mechanical column-wheel. Start, stop, reset: all three functions work precisely as intended. For those who prefer a self-winding watch, a Seiko NH35 automatic option is available; note that with the NH35, the chronograph subdials and pushers are decorative only. Choose based on how you intend to use the watch.

Case & Crystal

The 40 mm case is made from 316L stainless steel in a rose-gold finish, approximately 12 mm thick — a proportion that keeps the chronograph wearable without feeling thin. Sapphire crystal resists scratching and keeps the busy dial legible at any angle. Water resistance is rated to 5 ATM, suitable for everyday wear and incidental splashes. The strap runs from approximately 14.5 cm to 22 cm and ships with an adjusting tool for at-home sizing.

Dial & Design

Black and rose gold is a pairing this style of chronograph has always worn well, and it works here for the same reason it always has: warm metal on a dark ground reads clearly and looks expensive without shouting. The three rose-gold subdials break up the black surface into a balanced layout, the applied baton indices give the dial depth that printed markers cannot, and the rose-gold hands stay easy to find at a glance.
