Sand beige is the quietest dial in the Day Mod line — a warm, faintly greyed beige that reads bright and dry in daylight and turns noticeably earthier under lamplight. It does not bounce light back at you; it scatters it, and that soft diffusion is what gives this watch its character. Every piece is hand-assembled by MedoMods in Germany.

The movement

Inside sits an automatic movement with a combined day and date complication. It winds itself from the motion of your wrist, and weekday and date sit together in one aperture, so a single glance covers both without cluttering the calm dial. The exhibition caseback lets you watch the rotor do its work.

Case and crystal

40 mm of stainless steel — a diameter that works on slim and broader wrists alike without demanding attention. Above it, sapphire crystal: hard enough for daily wear and neutral enough that the warm sand tone comes through unaltered. The screw-down crown keeps the case sealed, and at 5 ATM rain, splashes and handwashing are non-events.

Dial and design

Roman numerals meet slim baton markers on the sand beige ground. The numerals give the watch its classical line, the batons keep the reading fast and matter-of-fact. Because beige offers less contrast than a white or black dial, the serifs come across finer and more drawn — the numerals do not shout, they simply sit calmly on the surface. Once the light drops, the Super-LumiNova on the indices takes over.

On the wrist

Beige is unexpectedly agreeable: it works with brown and olive, with denim, with any cream or stone tone, and it never turns cold. The steel bracelet gives that warm surface a crisp frame. Your choice of President, Oyster or Jubilee decides how formal the result reads — Oyster plain and solid, Jubilee finer in its links, President the clearest step towards a suit.
