DAY MOD - SMOKE BLUE ROMAN

Smoke blue is a blue that keeps its voice down. Not navy, not teal — a mid blue pulled toward grey, calm and cool in daylight and drifting toward slate under lamps. That grey cast is what makes the DAY MOD Smoke Blue Roman wearable every day: it carries colour without announcing it, and it never fights whatever else you are wearing. The movement

Inside sits an automatic movement with a combined day and date complication. It winds itself from the motion of your wrist — no battery to replace. Day and date sit together on the dial and give you the two pieces of information a working week actually asks for.

Case and crystal

40 mm of stainless steel: the diameter that works on slim and broad wrists alike and still slips under a shirt cuff. Above it, a sapphire crystal takes the scratches that otherwise make a dial look tired within a year. The screw-down crown keeps the case sealed, and 5 ATM covers rain, splashes and handwashing. The exhibition caseback leaves the movement in view.

Dial and design

Roman numerals behave differently on smoke blue than on silver or black. The muted ground absorbs part of the reflection, so the serifs read thinner and less ornamental — they come across as structure rather than decoration. Between the numerals sit baton markers, which settle the layout and stop twelve roman characters from crowding the circle. The indices carry Super-LumiNova and stay readable in the dark.

On the wrist

The steel bracelet comes in three builds: President with rounded centre links, Oyster with wide flat links, Jubilee with a five-piece construction. Smoke blue responds visibly to that choice — Jubilee makes the watch livelier and more detailed, Oyster pushes it toward the tool end. Either way, the dial stays the quiet half of the pairing.
