The GMT Mod blue-black V2 is built around contrast — a two-tone ceramic bezel that splits black and blue across the 24-hour ring, giving this handcrafted Seiko mod its name and its character. The blue-black colourway has become one of the most recognisable aesthetics in the GMT mod world: understated in daylight, immediately identifiable to anyone who knows what they are looking at. This is the second generation of that design, refined in assembly and fitted with the Seiko NH34 for a true independent GMT hand. Made for travellers, frequent flyers, and anyone who keeps an eye on two time zones without wanting a corporate pilot watch.
The NH34 inside the blue-black V2 has an independently adjustable GMT hand. You can read a second time zone on the 24-hour scale alongside the normal time. The GMT hand is not an independently jumping local hour hand. Hand-assembled by MedoMods and shipped worldwide with tracking – within the EU: no customs fees, no import surprises.
The GMT Mod blue-black V2 stands out through its motif dial: at the top a dark sky with bright dots like stars, below it the Earth in blue with land masses, as if looking down from space. The ceramic bezel is black on top and blue below, the GMT hand is blue, and the bracelet is a 5-Link with narrow centre links. All three siblings share the 40 mm case and the NH34 GMT movement.
The GMT Mod Meteorite also relies on a patterned dial, but a light grey one with a crystal-like structure. Its bezel is blue on top and red below, its GMT hand red, and it runs on a 3-Link bracelet. On the GMT Mod red-blue the same blue and red bezel meets a plain black dial, while the bracelet matches that of the blue-black V2. The GMT Mod Purple Joker is drawn quite differently: a black dial with a wave pattern, oblong baton indices, a black and purple bezel with a matching purple hand, plus a three-row link bracelet. If you want a pictorial motif instead of a plain dial and like cool shades of blue, the blue-black V2 is the one for you.
On the GMT Mod blue-black V2 the dial is a painted picture: at the top a dark sky with white star dots, below a blue Earth with light-brown landmasses that curves over the lower edge. The horizon is slightly bent, so the eye seems to fall on the planet from a great height. The large, round lume dots stand on this picture like lights, joined by a triangle above and one bar each to the left and below. The GMT hand is blue and ends in a triangular tip, while the hour hand ends in a round one. Black above, blue below: that is how the bezel is coloured, with white numerals and a toothed rim. On the right side the date is enlarged by a magnifier, and five narrow rows of links in steel colour form the bracelet. The colours of the dial continue in the bezel, so that picture and ring belong together.
3-6-9 field dial Mod White is the opposite: a smooth white dial, a brushed steel ring and only one orange hand as colour. Warm in tone is GMT Mod brown-gold, with a rose-gold case, a black dial, a brown lower bezel half and a bracelet of three rows. The same black-and-blue bezel and the same five-row bracelet appear on GMT Mod blue-black 2, yet there the dial remains a black field with a minute track instead of a picture. Here the motif alone decides. Anyone who prefers a quiet surface on the wrist will find one on the three neighbours. Dimensions and technology are identical: 40 mm and an NH34 with GMT hand under sapphire crystal.
