Seikomariner | Ice blue roman dial

Roman numerals on a sport-diver dial should not work — but on the Seikomariner Ice Blue Roman, they absolutely do. The ice blue base colour is pale and luminous, sitting closer to glacial aquamarine than traditional navy, and the Roman hour markers play off that coolness with a surprisingly refined energy. The result is a 40 mm Seiko mod that crosses the line between sport and style more convincingly than most watches twice its price.

Movement

The Seiko NH35 automatic ticks inside — hacking seconds hand, hand-winding capability, and a power reserve that comfortably covers a weekend off the wrist. At approximately 12 mm thick, the case does not bulk out under a shirt cuff. The bracelet runs from roughly 14.5 cm to 22 cm on 316L stainless steel links, adjusted using the included tool.

Case & Crystal

Both case and bracelet are 316L stainless steel, a corrosion-resistant grade that handles sweat, rain, and salty air without complaint. The sapphire crystal resists daily scratches and water resistance is rated to 5 ATM — safe for hand washing, rain, and casual splashes. No watchmaker required to size the bracelet; the tool ships in the box.

Dial & Design

Ice blue as a dial colour is underused in the mod space. It has a freshness that pure navy lacks, and it photographs beautifully in natural light — a faint shimmer under direct sun, a calm even tone indoors. The Roman numerals add a vintage-dressy note that sets this variant clearly apart from the indexed alternatives in the Seikomariner lineup. Choose the With Logo or No Logo variant depending on how you prefer the dial to read.
