DATE MOD CLASSIC AUBERGINE

The Date Mod Classic Aubergine is the most unusual colour in the collection. A deep purple that reads almost as black in shadow and only gives up its colour in direct light — a watch that does not play its hand immediately. MedoMods builds it by hand in Germany in three case sizes.

Movement

The Seiko NH35 automatic keeps time inside: hacking seconds so you can set the time precisely, hand-winding so you can start the watch without wearing it first, and approximately 41 hours of power reserve. The date at three o'clock advances mechanically at midnight. The exhibition caseback option exposes the rotor and bridges of the NH35 through a sapphire window — a satisfying daily detail on a mechanical watch. Prefer a cleaner look? The solid stainless caseback is the alternative.

Case, Crystal & Bracelet

316L stainless steel case in 36 mm, 39 mm, or 41 mm (crown excluded). The sapphire crystal sits above the dial, scratch-resistant and optically clear. Super-LumiNova on the hands and indices keeps the watch legible in low light — useful on a black dial where contrast between hands and surface matters most after dark. The screw-down crown and 5 ATM water resistance handle everyday exposure to water without concern. The adjustable stainless steel bracelet covers a wide range of wrist sizes and the safety folding clasp holds it securely.

Why Aubergine

Purple is rare on the wrist, and for good reason: most tones tip into garish. Aubergine stays dark enough to read as grown-up while keeping a colour you can actually name. Worn, it looks like a very dark dial most of the time — until light hits it. If you want something the wearer notices more than the room does, this is it.
