DAY MOD - SAND GOLD

Sand gold is the warmest dial in the DAY MOD line. It is not the yellow of jewellery gold but the pale, dusty tone of dry beach sand in late afternoon light, and it shifts as the light does: almost beige indoors, unmistakably gold outside. Underneath sits the same honest build as the rest of the line, a 40 mm steel case, sapphire crystal and an automatic movement that shows the day alongside the date, at 259 EUR.

Movement

An automatic movement carries the combined day and date complication. Both windows run off that one movement, so a single glance answers two questions at once: the time, and which day you are actually in. The exhibition caseback leaves the movement in view.

Case & Crystal

40 mm of stainless steel: wide enough to give the day and date room to breathe, restrained enough to slip under a shirt cuff. The screw-down crown and 5 ATM water resistance cover ordinary life, rain, washing up, an unexpected splash. Above the dial, sapphire crystal keeps the sand tone honest and absorbs the scratches a daily watch collects.

Dial & Design

Sand gold (#CEB471) is a light, warm gold with just enough green in it to stay soft rather than brassy. Against polished steel the contrast comes from colour temperature rather than brightness, which is why the dial looks rich in daylight and calm in a photograph. Super-LumiNova on the indices stays quiet while the colour does the work, then takes over once the light goes. Day and date sit in their classic position on the pale ground.

On the Wrist

A warm dial asks for warm company: linen, denim, camel, olive, tan leather. The steel bracelet comes three ways. President wears soft and dressy, Oyster is broad and matter-of-fact, Jubilee breaks light into small links and plays along with the gold.
