The GMT Mod red-black takes the classic red-and-black bezel colour combination — long associated with GMT sport watches — and rebuilds it as a Seiko Mod that you can actually afford to wear every day. The red-black bezel reads clean and sharp against a dark dial, offering an immediate visual anchor for the GMT hand. Built at MedoMods on the Seiko NH34 automatic, with a 3-Link bracelet.
Case: 40 mm stainless steel – timeless and stylish
Movement: Automatic Seiko NH34 – precise and reliable
Crystal & Luminosity: Sapphire crystal with Super-LumiNova – clear and highly readable
Crown and water resistance: screw-down crown, 5 ATM
Bezel & Function: Ceramic bezel with GMT – track a second time zone with global precision
Strap: Adjustable stainless steel bracelet with safety clasp – comfortable and modern
The red-and-black ceramic bezel is scratch-resistant and colour-stable — it will not fade or flake like painted alternatives. The NH34 movement drives a true 24-hour GMT hand independently of the main hour hand, which means you can set your home time zone and leave it there. The watch has sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown and 5 ATM water resistance. The 3-Link bracelet is rugged and tool-watch in feel. Each GMT Mod red-black is individually assembled and inspected at MedoMods — the kind of attention that does not come with off-the-shelf watches at this price point.
The GMT Mod red-black is recognisable by its ceramic bezel: the upper half is black, the lower half red, and the red GMT hand on the black dial matches that split. It is worn on a 3-Link bracelet with broad, flat links. The NH34 GMT movement, the 40 mm case and the sapphire crystal are the same on all four watches mentioned here; the differences lie in colour, bezel and bracelet.
Closest to it is the GMT Mod blue-black 2. Its dial is black as well, but the lower half of the bezel is blue, and so is the GMT hand. It comes with a finely linked 5-Link bracelet. If you want less colour on the wrist, look at the GMT Mod Silver Horizon: silver dial, a plain black ceramic bezel and an orange GMT hand, also on a 5-Link bracelet. The 3-6-9 field dial Mod Black does without any coloured insert. Its bezel is steel with an engraved scale, its GMT hand orange, and it shares the 3-Link bracelet with the red-black. The GMT Mod red-black therefore suits anyone who wants red as a clear accent next to a dark dial.
The GMT Mod red-black divides its bezel into black above and red below, with white numerals, small dots between them and a toothed rim. The red returns on the GMT hand, a thin line with a pale triangular tip. The red of the bezel is strong and glossy, and the triangle at the top edge and the numerals on both halves glow white as well. On the black dial sit round lume dots, bars beside them and a triangle, plus a fine minute track at the rim. The hands are silvery and filled with lume, with a thin hand carrying a dot running between them. The date stands on the right in a white window under a magnifier. The steel-coloured bracelet has three rows, with a broad, smooth link in the middle. Red stays confined to ring and hand; everything else is black or steel.
GMT Mod Ocean Blue shares the same bezel division and the same bracelet, but swaps the red for blue and gives the dial a blue sunburst finish. GMT Mod brown-gold stays black on the dial, but wears rose gold on case and bracelet and a bezel in black and brown. Most closely related is GMT Mod red-blue: the same division of the ring, though with blue instead of black at the top, and a bracelet of five narrow rows. Anyone who wants red as the only accent colour, with no blue on the ring, finds it here. Among the four it is the only watch that combines black above with red below. All four share a 40 mm case, the NH34 GMT movement and sapphire crystal. In the photo the outer bracelet links are brushed, the middle ones polished.
