The GMT Mod green-black is a two-timezone Seiko mod that makes the most of its ceramic bezel — green and black, clean contrast, immediately readable at a glance. Powered by the Seiko NH34, a true GMT movement with an independently adjustable 24-hour hand, it tracks a second time zone directly on the movement rather than through a workaround. The 40 mm stainless steel case keeps the footprint manageable, and the clear case back rounds out the configuration. For frequent travellers, remote workers, or anyone with contacts across time zones, this is the practical choice.
A GMT complication is only useful when the movement actually supports it — the NH34 does. No crown-pulling tricks to set the local hour hand; the GMT hand runs independently. Assembled by hand at MedoMods, this handcrafted Seiko mod ships worldwide with tracking – within the EU without customs complications. The green-black colourway is one of the most legible GMT configurations available: day and night, at a glance.
The GMT Mod green-black is the only one of these four watches to bring green into play. The lower half of the ceramic bezel is green, the upper half black, and the GMT hand picks up the green as a slim arrow. Underneath sits a black dial with round luminous dots, paired with the 5-Link bracelet and its narrow centre links. The 40 mm case and the NH34 GMT movement are unchanged compared with its siblings.
The GMT Mod red-blue swaps both bezel colours: blue on top, red below, with a red GMT hand. Bracelet and dial match the green-black. Closest in layout is the GMT Mod blue-black 2, which also wears black on top but shows blue below and has a blue hand. On the GMT Mod red-black the lower half turns red; it also differs through its 3-Link bracelet with broad, flat links. If you are after a two-tone bezel but want neither red nor blue on your wrist, you end up with the green-black, whose green works with dark and light outfits alike.
On the GMT Mod green-black the lower half of the bezel is green and the upper half black, and the white numerals run in a toothed rim. Small round dots sit between the numerals, and a fine white minute track circles the dial's perimeter. The green returns on the GMT hand, a slender line ending in a triangular tip. In the cut-out picture the green half shines brighter on the left, so the shade shifts slightly. The black dial carries large, round lume dots in pure white, a triangle at 12 o'clock and bars at 6 and 9 o'clock. Hour and minute hands are filled with lume, and the hour hand ends in a round tip. Under a magnifier the date at 3 o'clock stands black on white. On the wrist lies a steel-coloured bracelet made of five narrow rows of links. Case, hands and bracelet stay steel-coloured, so that only the green share of ring and hand draws the eye.
GMT Mod brown-gold sticks with the black dial but swaps the metal for rose gold, the green for brown and the bracelet for three rows. GMT Mod Ocean Blue colours the dial itself blue, with a sunburst finish, and wraps a bezel of black and blue around it. Closest to the green-black comes GMT Mod Black: the same bracelet, also a green GMT hand, but a bezel in a single black. Anyone who wants the green only as an accent at the bottom of the ring is therefore comparing above all the rings of these watches. On both halves of the ring the numerals wear the same white; only the ground changes. The technology repeats across all four: a diameter of 40 mm, the automatic NH34 with GMT, sapphire crystal.
