MASTER MOD - RACING PANDA

The Master Mod Racing Panda takes the same VK63 meca-quartz platform as its siblings and builds it around contrast: pale honeycomb dial, deep black registers, orange hands. That split — light outside, dark inside — is what watch people call a panda, and it comes from the racing chronographs of the sixties, where legibility beat everything else. With a black tachymeter bezel and a perforated leather strap it becomes a 40 mm chronograph you read at a glance.

Movement

The Seiko VK63 meca-quartz hybrid delivers a fully working chronograph: a 60-minute counter, a 24-hour subdial and a running seconds hand, all driven from the pushers at 2 and 4 o'clock. The VK63 pairs quartz accuracy with the crisp pusher feedback of a mechanical chronograph — the stop hand sweeps rather than ticks, and the reset snaps cleanly back to zero.

Case & Crystal

40 mm of stainless steel with polished flanks and a brushed top surface, framed by a black tachymeter bezel that sharpens the pale dial. Sapphire sits above it, the crown screws down, and water resistance is 5 ATM — enough for rain, washing your hands and an unexpected downpour, not meant for swimming.

Dial & Design

The honeycomb texture catches light in fine hexagons and keeps the white surface alive instead of letting it read flat. Three black registers sit inside it as clear counterpoints, the orange chronograph and hour hands lead the eye, and the applied markers carry Super-LumiNova for low light.

On the Wrist

At 40 mm the Racing Panda stays an everyday chronograph rather than a statement piece: it fits under a cuff and does not overwhelm a slim wrist. The perforated leather strap with orange stitching is softly bound, breathes on warm days and swaps for steel or rubber in seconds thanks to quick-release spring bars.
